It is used as hydrolysate adhesive for the manufacture of ceramic mold precision casting. Tetraethyl orthosilicate is not adhesive. It muse be hydrolysed to form hyfrolysate to posses bonding capacity. Therefore so called Tetraethyl orthosilicate adhesive is Tetraethyl orthosilicate and hydrolysate.
